The solids are isolated as the substance is moving, as in pneumatic conveying. Air is forced to circulate at cyclonic speed and rotate in a cylindrical vessel of suitable design in this device. 

When a solid object reaches a high speed, it is subjected to centrifugal force and chooses to cling to the outer surface, while air maintains its high speed due to its velocity factor. Suddenly, an air outlet is created in the middle for air to escape, while the solid material is unable to change direction due to centrifugal force and instead falls downwards and separates.

This system has a separation efficiency of up to 90%, depending on design, material, bulk density, and other factors. Stuff is stored in a single collecting hopper.

The smaller the diameter, the more efficient it is.
